Hello! My name is Grace McIntire, and I teach Construction Management at Western Carolina University. I graduated with my Master of Construction Management Degree at WCU, and our graduate program was such a positive experience (and so transformative for me) that I was thrilled to return to teach there.

I have an extremely unique background, and I'm not your typical construction professional. I started dabbling in construction about 10 years ago. I fell in love with the process through renovating an old auto body shop into commercial offices...my passion soared from there. I've been working in the industry professionally for nearly 7 years. Most recently, I was a Project Manager for a small General Contracting firm in Asheville overseeing residential, commercial, and industrial renovations and builds. Beyond this industry, I have 23 years of experience in business operations and logistics, marketing, finance, graphic/web design, and print production.

I own a small farm just outside of Asheville (about an hour and half from campus). I raise mini goats, chickens, a mini donkey, and a mini horse. We breed and sell baby goats; and YES...it is exactly as magical as all of those adorable viral videos you see of baby goats.

My family and I moved here from Los Angeles about 6.5 years ago, so it was quite the transition from fast and busy city life to the countryside. I have an amazing husband and two young children, and we all really love the peace and beauty that farm life in Western North Carolina entails.
