MY TEACHING METHOD

  • INCLUSIVE

    As a teacher, my goal is to empower and edify students through positive, highly effective instruction and fostering an inclusive learning environment where they feel a sense of belonging. I take an active and genuine interest in students to establish a strong foundation through building rapport, creating an open-minded safe space built upon mutual respect, and developing custom learning exercises mindful of diverse backgrounds. Adhering to the principles of the Universal Design for Learning framework, my inclusive teaching methodology supports and celebrates the learning journey of students from all abilities and walks of life. I present students active opportunities for their management and participation in their own learning.

  • EXPERIENTIAL

    In this modern era of cross-convergence and burgeoning interconnectivity across disciplines, students are bestowed the compounded and nuanced expertise of their instructors and mentors more effectively in an experiential-blended approach over conventional deductive-only teaching methods. By pairing inductive modes of learning with tradition, the development of social components and interactive peer collaboration will enable me to guide students through an educational journey that reinforces the foundational concepts of my discipline, while delivering the knowledge via more engaging mechanisms.

  • INNOVATIVE

    While there is an irrefutable and inherent need for the long-established mechanisms, I welcome the acute demand for modernization, and I plan to adopt the shift toward integrated teaching techniques in my approach. I have so keenly come to understand, firsthand, the importance of a student’s true cognizance of the concepts we intend to instill rather than the perceived value of simply committing theories to memory. The most impactful way to meaningfully advance my discipline is to build upon the existing foundational infrastructure, supplementing innovative practices to usher in the next generation of its leaders.
